$100 Fantasy Meal Challenge: Episode 1

Andrew Figurelli

Here we are with a random new series called the $100 Fantasy Meal Challenge. For this episode, I’ll have $100 and my goal is to create the perfect meal, from restaurants around town, that total for less than $100 (or if its over by a few bucks thats ok, I make the rules here anyways). So lets get started:

Garbage Salad | Barry’s Downtown Prime | $22

Starting us off with the only green you’ll see on this list, is the garbage salad from Barry’s Downtown Prime. It’s on the more expensive side when it comes to salads, and it’s basically taking a little over 1/5 of my budget already, but this will hands down be the best salad you’ve ever had in your life.

Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños | Frankie’s Uptown | $6

It’s REALLY hard to say no to delicious, cheap eats. And thats what you get when you go to Frankie’s Uptown for happy hour. $6.16 for all of these items.

And more importantly, for the bacon wrapped jalapenos. I had no idea how good B.W.J. could be until I tried those – and let me tell you – they’re incredible.

The Meatball | LAVO Italian | $31

Quick trip down the 215 and we’re headed to LAVO. And if we’re at LAVO, you know that you legally have to get “The Meatball”. There aren’t many places known for 1 giant meatball, but LAVO absolutely is. It’s as big as a newborn baby’s head and the taste will bring you back to the motherland of Italy.

Mama Fig would absolutely approve. 5 out of 5 Mama Figs.

Ribeye Steak | Herbs & Rye | $39

For the taste and the price, how can you possibly say no to Herbs & Rye’s happy hour. Literally every steak, during happy hour, is half off.

Between the ambiance, the drink selection, and the incredible food they serve, its impossible to say no to a little H&R. Just make sure you have a reservation or get there early enough to stand in line before they open. Because seating is always limited.

Cereal Milk | Milk Bar | $7

For a little sweet treat to finish off this fantasy meal, I have just a few $$ to spend so I decide to go with Cereal Milk Ice Cream from Milk Bar inside The Cosmopolitan. It’s ice cream that tastes just like it sounds – cereal milk. Add a little Cap’n Crunch topping for an extra bonus.

Budget Total: $105 ($5 over 😬)
